A young woman moves in with her boyfriend expecting domestic bliss but instead has trouble getting comfortable. Her strange new home seems determined to help out, and soon the walls are talking. They reveal a magical tale of an old hatmaker and his long- suffering wife, who runs away with his favorite hat. He vows to find them, if he can ever muster the strength to leave the comforts of his armchair. Inspired by Yiddish folklore and infused with Klezmer music, The Hatmaker’s Wife is a whimsical and poignant story about family, home, and how we treat the people we love.

After drowning in a boating accident, famous crime writer Jack Cameron and his wife Susie return as ghosts to haunt their former cottage after being denied entry to heaven. Bored with the afterlife, they delight in scaring away prospective tenants until a young couple—aspiring novelist Simon and his pregnant wife Flic—move in. As Jack and Susie become entangled in their lives, they must contend with Simon’s writer’s block, Flic’s overbearing mother, and a most unconventional guardian angel. Amid Christmas chaos, a snowstorm, and the arrival of a baby, Jack faces a crisis that may force even a committed atheist to reconsider what he believes.
